How we handle the information you share when you ask to be matched with a crypto-tax professional. Plain language, no surprises.
When you request a match, your details may be shared with a limited number of vetted tax professionals who will contact you. Your information goes only to a small, hand-picked network. It is never sold on the open market. You can decline any professional who reaches out.
CryptoTaxPrep.com connects crypto investors with independent tax professionals and publishes educational guides. We are not a CPA firm, we do not file returns, and we do not give tax opinions. Nothing here creates a CPA-client relationship.
Through the matching intake we collect what you tell us: your situation, tax years, activity type, rough transaction volume, urgency, and your contact details (first name, email, and, if you choose, a phone number and best time to reach you). We do not ask for wallet keys, exchange logins, or account credentials, and you should never send them to us.
We may also collect basic technical information (such as your browser type and general location) and simple analytics about how the site is used. [ANALYTICS PROVIDER, owner to confirm and disclose.]
We use your intake answers to route you to professionals who handle situations like yours, and we share your details with up to three of them so they can offer a free, no-obligation assessment. We use your contact information to reach you about your match and, if you ask, to answer questions. We do not sell your information on the open market, and we do not share it with anyone outside the vetted network for their own marketing.
Sharing happens only after you affirm consent on the intake form, an explicit, un-pre-checked control. You can decline any professional who contacts you, ask us to stop contacting you, or request that we delete the information you provided. To do any of these, email questions@cryptotaxprep.com.
Our Tools page includes affiliate links, marked rel="sponsored". If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes our recommendations, and it does not involve sharing your personal information with those tools.
We keep your information only as long as needed to make your match and support you afterward, then dispose of it in line with our retention practices. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
